Jung Eun Park

The Room of Obsession
In the Artist's own words..."Most of my work is drawing and sewing on Korean paper dyed with coffee or tea. Since I was a child, drawing has been a habit like playing, writing a diary and having a conversation. I never thought of drawing as something out of my life. Drawing has always been my companion with its honesty and playfulness. When I work, I place the large paper on the floor, sit on the paper, or sometimes lie down, and draw something not only in large scale, but also with very tiny details. Therefore, I can feel the touch and the smell of paper with all of my body and senses. It makes me enjoy the moment not only physically, but also psychologically. In the meantime, the paper can be another world where I can imagine and communicate with myself. On the paper, I record my experiences and thoughts with my materials, mostly pencil and thread very poetically and symbolically. Therefore, my drawing is sometimes difficult to read. However, in my drawing, material, drawing mark, and title can be a clue to read what my story is about. All of the materials play their own roles, creating some spaces, lines, and forms."

Patricia Hagen

Patricia Hagen
Patricia was born in Vancouver, Canada and now lives in Seattle, Washingington. She holds a BFA from Miami University of Ohio and and MFA from California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. She has participated in an extensive number of group and individual exhibits.

Dan Gottsegen

Raptor Paintings
In Dan's words "My work has always been shaped by my explorations of the natural world. My work for over a decade trapping, banding, measuring, and releasing hawks in California to study their migration patterns influenced much of my early work. My involvement in this study was born out of many strange and intense encounters with owls and hawks that I had been having for years. My work was also influenced by week or longer, completely solitary hikes that I took far into the wilderness of the high Sierra, traveling miles off marked trails, camping and painting alone above ten-thousand feet (something I have always done)."

Tara Tavonatti

Tara Tavonatti Studio
Tara earned a BFA and MFA from California State University in Long Beach, California. In her words "The inspiration for my work always begins with light. It beckons me to watch in solence as a scene unfolds before me, whether in life or my imagination."

Nicole Natri

Nicole Natri
Nicole Natri explores diverse antique and semi-antique material in order to examine the history of dualism and double standards and our belief in the man-made Truth, often using the esthetics found in older engravings. You can read an interview with her on myartspace BLOG.

I create installations that immerse and involve the viewer through the use of digital photographic imagery, sculptural installation and soundscape.
