![]() New Paintings |
Daniell holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and lives in New York City. In his own words "I use painting as a way of discovering and learning about myself in order to foster personal growth and maturity. I acknowledge the futility of language in expressing the very deepest emotions of the human experience, and the role art has in filling in the spaces. Through my art, I invoke the importance of relationships as a defining characteristic of man, being a social animal. I explore the effect relationships have in forming us as human beings, starting from the moment of birth until the moment we pass on. My paintings are a personal expression of myself and others I have directly affected as well as those whom have directly affected me." |

In Jack's own words "if only... is about beauty. if only... is about looking at objects in a new and interesting way. Growing up in small town Illinois, Jake Sorrill has learned to examine the everyday with a critical eye. As a senior at Routt Catholic High School, Jake has developed an extensive portfolio peppered with the things we see everyday - flowers, trees, animals - captured in a way that focuses on the object's beauty. Just as nature is beautiful, even the harshness of a cold urban street can have its own beauty." |
| Brian Sherwin, our senior blog editor has been continuing his interview series with artists. Below are a couple of recent highlights. |
