Lilliputt was the island in Gullivers travels where Gulliver is washed ashore .All the people a miniscule whilst he is a giant.
2.17.2010
thanks~
2.11.2010
Thanks Deb and Hi! I hope your warm and well. As first exhibitions go, it certainly was an eye opener ! Im trying to take on this air of professionalism that they are trying to teach us so much., Somehow it distracts from the Artwork though, and lately I haven't had much inspiration for new works-I feel I need a Holiday or an adventure to get me back on track! I like your picture is that your own horse? What a handsome chap! Well i better crack on with some more work but Ill be sure to check out Artbreak and look you up! Daffodils and Snowdrops from Beth x

12.20.2009
been busy during the holidays? I'm about to start some mermaid paintings for a gallery here called GLass Mermaids.
11.22.2009
i got the impression of jungles and exotic plants with an abstract flair.
11.19.2009
Deb...all you have to do is give me your email and You'll start getting all my emails out! Doug
11.18.2009
you should do some more sunlight ones..with blues..and then one with reds...different landscapes..glacial, desert mountains.
11.18.2009
Hi Deb,Charles Burchfield would've loved this one. Is it for sale?Charlie
11.18.2009
I really like Rise and Shine. It makes me feel like I have been trapped in a dark jungle for along time and I finally found the way out. Well done. The music you picked for it is perfect.
11.16.2009
Thank you Deborah. I look forward to seeing your next creation.
11.15.2009
beautiful drawings, but somewhere sky is missing, it is as if maturity of a child's dream, more centralized on subject than freedom of enjoyment, and somewhere the sky is as beautiful as dreams itself. nice hard work. and more so beautiful. i wish more freedom (liberation) for u. Nital.
11.15.2009
hi deb,why don't the brids share the same technique as the4 rest of the piece...there seems ot eba disconnect between subject and technique...try connecting all elements.charlie
11.15.2009
Great use of color and the design is so harmonious.
11.15.2009
reminds me of my two pet doves, Calypso and Artemis
11.11.2009
you should see my website. http://www.coffeegrinderpress.com thanks for the comment. ;)
11.10.2009
This is an interesting compilation of nightmares and nice dreams. I'm curious as to how you start these types of pieces. Do you form the main objects first(like maybe the horses) and then flow outward with the lines and shapes or is it a zen-like pieces where you make the flow and then your imagination discovers the objects within the piece? Great going girl! Doug
11.10.2009
thank you, i really love all of your work, very fluid. thanks again, chad
11.10.2009
You've been busy. I really like your Moon Man series and the music goes with it well.
11.10.2009
Thank you Deborah. It's been along time since I drew. It felt good going back to my roots. It's good to hear from you. It's been awhile since I've been on here. How have you been?
11.8.2009
hey Deb!! your artwork called '' eye shrine'' is fantastic and it is my fav. I also wonder the name of the song which is on the background . I liked it too. :). Yours B.
11.7.2009
Thank you Deb. This took real patience and I had to do the back also...I'll post it sometime. I also apperciate your confidence in me.
11.7.2009
Thanks Deb. It took some time. It was like working a puzzle, which I've never been too good at.....
11.7.2009
I really like your new work. It reminds me of Hindu art. Makes me think of Shiva and some of their gods. Very much an interesting design and the colors are beautiful. GOld Star for Deb!
10.31.2009
Hi Deb,I like it, Use technique as a tool not an end in itself...pull the shapes together and still keep the flow it is quite effective.Charlie
10.31.2009
great choice of colrs ...very design-like. would prolly be a great seller for you. Doug
10.30.2009
Hey Deb,You are really pulling it together. I am glad to see this happening the forms and movements are more than decorative they have a female fecundity about them and this works with the idea of waiting. Well Done.Charlie
10.29.2009
This one seems quite diferent from most of your others. i can't say why...just a feel..maybe it is the use of open space or maybe the restricted use of only a few colors and values. i like it though. i like that it is easier to read and ,akes you have a feeling. doug
10.29.2009
this is really good.
10.27.2009
Thanks Deb.
10.26.2009
Something like that maybe more like stolen childhood by the capitalist system that takes the chance to a child to get decent medical attention.
10.21.2009
i think the dangling woman was a goo didea! that sounds cool...all you have to do is scan it and make a copy and then use paint program to white out the area you want to try and put her in againa...to have 2 versions. Doug
10.21.2009
Hi Deb,Technically concentrate on the laying down of the pencil strokes... think of them as brush strokes... the surface or the paper and color transfer are interfering with the image. Perhaps try smooth bristol board or a finer grain drawing paper the best you can afford. Use a tortillon to soften and fill in the white pores of the paper...just some suggestions. The viewer wnats the moon to tell them something like maybe the moon looking at the viewer out of the corner of the eye or another object interacting with the moon like a planet or star or whatever.CharliePS the beadwirk is cool but I think it must have some sort of logical reason for being there not just as an add on to make the surface more interesting. These are some finer points but are important.
10.20.2009
This would be one of my favorites...very inspirational. Doug
10.20.2009
Thanks Debs, I'm doing a big close up of the Duomo at the moment. Infact I'm covered in yellow paint at the moment. Let's just say it's not melting with colour but perhaps dripping with it :))))))
10.18.2009
It takes along time to accept that the gift of art is primariliy for the artist person..it is in following that pathway that others find our work one day to be amazing if we have been true to our own calling... the $ "carrot" is from the enemy. Don't be decieved Van Gogh dies of suicide becaue he didn't think his work would be accpeted by anyone Now....!!! Lautrec an outcast Rodin ignored for the mostpart...the list is endless. there are millions of us out here struggling to keep it real. Forge on. Charlie
10.17.2009
I'm doing fine. hope your the same. That's a good looking horse, reminds me of a horse we had named "Bre"
10.17.2009
Deb,Well done. Great feeling and movement. I thnk you are focusing and moving forward towards artistic maturity.Charlie
10.17.2009
i really like the flowing elements of movement in this one. I also like snakes! :)
10.17.2009
Beautiful work as usual. "Tree Candy " is really nice. The tiger is nice as well. Are you working on a different style?
10.16.2009
A gallery contacted me the other day so I went for a visit ...they wanted me to have an opening in january...Ha I might do it..but this gallery is NOT what you would think. They liked my weird surrweal and abstract art cuz I think they're ALL on DRUGS! The gallery place is a warehouse that is so low down the cultural scale I think roaches might be too classy to get in. These guys were stinking with unwahsed hair and their eyes were buzzing all over the place. They have 100 bands a year in that place. I might put some of my weird art in there that i don't care much about just for the hell of it. But i won't invite any of my friends to the opening --no way--they would think i'm crazy!
10.16.2009
nice composition.Where did you get the idea? did you dream it or did you scribble a shape and discover the moon..or did you get an idea and plan it..just curious. Doug
10.16.2009
Moon Man fantastic...and also romantic!!
10.15.2009
Thank you Deb, We are all on a path. Its nice to see a kindred soul on the way. You keep busy too. We all have voices so that we can be heard by fellow travelers. Summer's heat leaves sumers wheat Autumns gold leaves stories told Winter chill in the air still But spring at last, Spring covers her nakedness
10.14.2009
Hi Deb I like your new work, and your profile picture has changed! I didn't recognize you, you look really different,in a good way! I always like a change :) Hope things are going well for you now the autumn draws near. Im busy back at uni and have become very absorbed in my work of late, so not much time for internet. Working on a project about Sex and Death and how society has become desensitized to horrific imagery, so my work has taken quite a graphic turn lately. Anyway continue to look upon your new works, and wish you well warm chestnuts and red leaves from Beth x
9.28.2009
How sweet! I love these. Reminds me of my own cat
9.11.2009
Deb, Thank you. Jon
9.7.2009
Very nice, and uncommonly unique
9.6.2009
Sorry Deb Ive been well out of the loop with internet. My summer hasn't quite gone to plan and sadly I have ended up working for the most part...but ah well always next year. Hope your having a nice summer also over in Kansas, I bet it's a little warmer there than it is in grey old England! :)
8.23.2009

8.22.2009
Thanks Deborah, I've just been over to Belfast, Ireland and this is the resulting first painting of the hill that looks over the city.
8.18.2009
Thank you!! The last couple of pieces you posted really maintain a beautiful sense of movement. "Tree Candy" has a brilliant color-scheme and "July Tornadoes" gives a feeling of movement on the verge of chaos. Love it!!
8.17.2009
wow. i get an incredible sense of happiness when i look at you work. and the drawing "what ever am i to do" somewhat because you chose jefferson airplane, that made my heart smile.
8.16.2009
Yep, busy retirement doesn't end that my calendar is full every week and I am so glad when I get to stay in my studio and paint. Just redid it, for the work I am doing now. Charlie Have a good school year. I'll be teaching one class in art appreciation community college. Best, Charlie
8.16.2009
Hi Debberado, Gratias and you? Charlie
8.1.2009
thanks, I've been having a blast with patina ing the copper then painting with inks.
7.17.2009
the most movement I have seen in your work. something about it scres me..not sure what ...i like the way the light is bright and then gradually cool down through the piece. Doug
7.16.2009
Hi Deb, Are you diabetic or are you saying something else??? The message left me asking... huh? Charlie
7.16.2009
Thanks!
7.15.2009
Hi Deborah, Got it in one! It was fun to paint, just loaded the brush and away I went. I see you have been very busy too. Some very nice work, are you selling? You should be. :)
7.13.2009
Really Beautiful Deb, I love the colours and the swirls. fantastic.Id love to have a giant version of it, almost like wallpaper!
7.12.2009
Nice. Loooks like it would make my pancreas shut down...I don't do sweets too well...reminds me of the swirls in a lollipop.
7.11.2009

Really good!
7.9.2009
Thank you! You are a wonderful artist yourself!! Great imagination.
7.9.2009
great eyes....AND my fav musician Peter Gabriel!
7.9.2009
I love the values and I love this horse. I think you should add more darker values behind the horse for more contrast and leave it black and white. the darjk values behind the head would frame it out more. Doug
7.9.2009
I really like suspended and I am intrigued by the duality of cats and birds. doug
7.9.2009
thanks for your love. love you back
7.8.2009

6.29.2009
Nada, enjoy the process. Charlie
6.29.2009
Nice picture. Charlie
6.27.2009
I love the music...what is it? I know the song but not the artist/version. it's Pachabel Canon in D, right. The painting at first is flowers and then as I am swept by the water the seem to be cephalopods in the waves! Very metaphoric! Doug
6.25.2009
Amazing work!
6.25.2009
oh..your works are stunning. love the style.
6.25.2009

6.22.2009
I really like your style!!! Your pictures have a very surreal feel to them!!! Very Cool!
6.21.2009
Thanks for your kind comments Deb, I really appreciate that. You have an awesome art, it reminds me of Tolkien and Froud art... Incredible :)
6.21.2009
Thank you :)
6.20.2009
Has a Haida Native American Art feeling to it like spirits in nature idea. I like it.
6.20.2009
That is so complex. I love the woman's profile on the left side. very cool. doug
6.16.2009
Beautiful job! I love the colors! What size is this piece?
6.14.2009
i like it! The music is very cool, too. the giraffe is great and I like the depth created by the receding line of mushroom-like trees. Doug
6.14.2009
Hi Deb,Animals, convergence, fluidity, fear, fecundity, swirling energy, timid. strength, are a few of the ideas I see in the work...the value range being colored pencil is a little limited...and contrasts of imagery, the whole piece is full of emotions.Charlie
6.14.2009
Zoo Land.. sweet!!..fantastic in details!!....great work!!
6.13.2009
Hi Deb, Its just thirty minutes to pick alocation or subject then we spend about two to three hours working on it...Thanks. Charlie
6.10.2009
Hooray, kitties!! Watch out mousie.
6.9.2009
I've also got one of me as Bob Ross and another as Neo from The Matrix. Funny stuff... That's the extent of my Photoshop artistry, cursed to be a traditional not digital artist. haha
6.8.2009

6.7.2009
Very nice my dear friend. All the best to you from Croatia! Ljiljana
6.7.2009
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I was checking out your work and love your use of color and the feeling of movement each piece has. "Life of Deb" has a great illustrative feel but maintains a surrealist atmosphere that is wonderful. Keep it up!
6.7.2009
Nada. Charlie
6.6.2009
I like the theme...and technically fantastic details!!...great work!!
6.6.2009
Thank you for visiting my sight and thanks for the kind words about my work.
6.6.2009
Theres some real refinement going on here...I am seeing a kind of distillation process in the technique and concepts of your work...its fluid much like the Art Noveau artists.. artist Mucha comes to mind. BestCharlie
6.6.2009
FLuid consistancy. Love the pastel colors of the peacock
6.6.2009
Wow what a comlpiment Deborah! Just put another five works on, hope you like them. Pete:)

Good to see how productive you have been. Keep 'em coming Deb.
5.30.2009
Hi deb,Good. Have you tried any other media for these works?CHarlie
5.30.2009
The big twin lake has excellent composition and so agreable colours. Nice place to bee.
5.27.2009
Ok, I wish you luck but I think you will do great!! I think you probably have more talent than I. You are sure more versatile than I. I definately want to see the lake pic. when you finish it and am excited about seeing a portrait of your daughter too! I sent pics. of the coonies to your email, Hope you like them. I've only passed through Kansas City, way back in the 60's on the way to LA. Guess what...just picked up two more young coonies! They are a little older, maybe 7-8 weeks and they are frightened but I will win them over shortly. Good and healthy though. Will send pics. of these when I take some. Later, Carol Ann
5.27.2009
Wow, amazing! You seem to be pretty prolific anyway, are you sure you sleep?? You're amazing friend! I live about 50 miles so.west of Chicago, where did you say you are? Hug your daughter and horses for me. Have you ever done a portrait of your daughter? Would love to see is if you have. The charcoal of the girl on the couch is my granddaughter Ashley and Isaiah is one of my grandsons, when he was a toddler, he's 8 now. Later, CA
5.26.2009
Thank you again Deb, I am rehabbing an orphaned baby Raccoon right now, he's adorable and tiny. He had seizures at first but is ok now. Rough time at first! Not much time to do art right now and glad for the break. Where is it that you live again, I've forgotten. Ugh, hate getting older! Cody,CA,Carol Ann.........Just don't call me Carol, mom would hate that. Ha, ha..............
5.26.2009
Thanks Deb, I wish we lived closer also. That would be great, there aren't any artists other that for watercolor where I am! I need a local group to get together with here. Would love to ride your horses too! How many do you have and how do you find time to do art with all your responsibilities?? CA
5.25.2009
Hi Deb,I like the direction this is going in...personal and revelational...the soul of the artist!Good work.Charlie
5.25.2009

Thank you for your comment! Have a wonderful day. x Janet
5.4.2009
Like your works.
5.3.2009
Thnaks :)
5.3.2009
oh...so you saw the abstact stuff? I haven't done much of that in the years...I prolly only have 30 or so pieces of abstract art. My entire art collection encompasses a little over 1700 pieces ...AND I'm still going--i average i guessing between 60 and 100 new pieces a year...I could do more if I wasn't an author and the writing takes a big chunk of my time. Thanks, Doug
4.29.2009
I also have a water color mixed with collage background of Monument.
4.29.2009
the ballerina and Pig is also a short story of mine similar to an Alic ein WOnderland thingy. Yeah i wanted to put up an Odd gallery. I browse the artists galleries on the site and I find very few I like...So far most of peoples art is abstract or close to it..or photography or blurry stuff....not too many people who do semi-realistic things ..I just keep hunting for other artists similar to us. I have always liked my bullseye-the bull skull with the blu e eye. somehting about it to me is cool...
4.29.2009
Thanks Deb. After moving to Wisconsin, trees became an inspiration for paintings.
4.29.2009
Your work has an incredible light. !! Congratulations!!!!!! J.C.Gayoso
4.29.2009
The movement in the series of Trees is excellent. The colours are very harmonious.Best regards
4.28.2009

The flowers are SOOOO nice Deb. Really beautiful.
4.22.2009
thankyou very much!
4.19.2009
Great work!
4.19.2009
Thank you! Deb.
4.19.2009
you know, you should have a show featuring all these pieces in this style I like the way the peacock and rabbit are slyly positioned in there.
4.19.2009
Beautiful work Deb, when I look at your work up close... I see a collection of stories or feelings or something. The bird which seems to be constrained by the bands of lines and color.. might represent a cage or bonds of some kind. The little doe wrapped in a cocoon of color and detail ... I see protection or security. The more you look at it , the more you see. It is for this reason that I enjoy your art. Thanks for insight. Rob
4.19.2009
Great work!best:Igor
4.17.2009
Yeah....:)....that one isn`t the happiest face of mine:)...a little bored...obviously I`m not like that...only when the british weather makes me ..:)
4.16.2009
You are really quick! Thank you for commenting,Maria
4.14.2009
Hi Deb!,,,,I like the tornado dreams gallery...I don`t want to get the experience!!
4.14.2009
Check out my new art blog. its connected to my website. Thanks
4.13.2009
I think you are moving closer to communicating more than visual exercises... just a hunch and not a criticism.
4.12.2009
Haunting music for hauting images...It does have the movement and feel of a tornado....and the values and contrast add more in depth feeling to the mood of the paintings. Doug
4.11.2009
Hi Deb, thanks for the invite, love your work!! you are no wanna be :-)
4.7.2009
Deb, these look like the cosmos that show up in my garden in August. :)

Beautiful new gallery. It took me a minute to figure out what the medium was. WOW color pencils.
3.29.2009
cool fish, I love the patterns in the background too, very nice
3.29.2009
Three fish placed against the dark blue chenille background - this is a great way to display this work. They are so other-worldly!!
3.28.2009
This is my favorite gallery now! I love these wild fish....I bet you could sell a bunch of these at festivals! Doug Hiser
3.27.2009
Thank you!
3.26.2009
Debberdo, I am loving your work! I have to say, I think your skill with a broom is unsurpassed, and those monkeys! Pure Genius! Keep it up girlfriend, and remember, stay away from girls with garish footwear! - A lesson to us all I think.
3.25.2009
I never miss a cat anywhere. This is really nice.
3.25.2009
I just love this one...!!
3.24.2009
Thank You, Dear Deborah!

Hi Deb, good to hear from you... i meant to comment on your "without Music" gallery, but got busy with something and here comes your comment on my work... so, don't think that it's just reciprocal: i really-really loved your work! it's very fluid, almost musical as well as beautifully-imaginative. reminds me of paintied silk or tapestries. what's the media? re: my stuff -- Queen Ester (from the series of biblical characters) is done in my "stained glass on canvas" technique i.e. painted in acrylics on stretched canvas and then outlined in raised relief and varnished to protect and give it some gloss. it does have the effect of stained glass, especially when you look at the original. my kitties are acrylic on small canvas -- result of my almost mindless doodling in paint while watching TV one day. the "blue" women (also acryrilic) eflect my blueish mood of lately. i prefer acrylic because it has no odor, dries fast, cleans up without chemicals and can be used (almost) as oil and/or watercolors. looking forward to hear from you and see more of your beautiful artwork, Rae

This is good. It is about your emotions.charlie

Debberdo, it's going well. I'm working on some pieces for a solo show in November. Mostly oils but I'd like to experiment with a few monoprints or relief prints. A good summer project. Considering going to Toronto one weekend to do a workshop... In April, I have been invited to participate in a fundraiser for our art school. It's called "instant art" and the idea is to create a work start-to-finish in three hours, while people are wandering around and watching, then the works go up for auction. I've never done anything like that before! In May, I will be participating in another fundraising art auction for an organization called Kenya Hope, which is raising money to buy dairy cows for an orphanage in Kenya. I have donated a painting (the lion on one of my galleries) and I'll be biting my nails hoping that someone will buy it!! :) A busy spring for me but lots of fun. What are you up to? Please keep posting your gorgeous, swirling images. I love looking at all those fantastic animals with their wonderful facial expressions.
3.19.2009
Oh, this is magical...pen and ink? Love it.
3.19.2009
Hi Deb, I like your rabbit and your new dragon it's good to see you have been busy.Take care.
3.19.2009
It's not fading... your experimenting. Some of the best artwork I've seen was mono chromatic. Oh, I forgot...it was mine, LOL
3.19.2009
Deborah, thank you for your compliment. October Storm was a joy to paint, the story of how it was inspired was sad though. I am hoping to blog it soon. I really enjoyed your work , I love your images of horses,, very fascinating and well done :)Stay in touch,Denise

3.15.2009
Love your flowers!
3.15.2009
To describe the painting of Deborah Fruehling, many words could be used: gardens, snakes, horses, birds, cats, castles, fairies, mermaids, dragons, tornadoes, bubbles, rainbows ... But if I had to choose one, would say: DREAMS ... dreams that transport you to a world of color and fantasy in which the search for new characters and scenarios never ends.
3.13.2009
you have so many beautiful galleries, it will take me a while to go thru them all. I am enjoying some of the more figurative, expression pieces. They are somewhat surrealistic, but seem to have some kind of evocative energy flowing thru them. The way you use the paint reminds me a bit of Walter Anderson.
3.13.2009
Very Beautiful...
3.12.2009
Your use of line and colour reminds me of one of my art heroes William Blake, really fantastic work.

2.22.2009
Nice work and composition!
2.22.2009
Hi Deb, Well if you look at my own work I through my photographic means have tried to bring that kind of movement into some of my photographs. Something people who paint and draw can do with the turn of a brush or pencil. Of course it's not any easier with your art. As deliberate as your work is it still has that natural and spontaneos movement. Anyway keep up the good work. I'm working on a whole new series of mask that have movement created in camera. I will let you know when its up. Take care.
2.22.2009
Hi Deborah,Very Nice I like the smooth curling movement in this painting.
2.22.2009
DeborahLovely work. You have a beautiful rythum to your work and it seemsto dance around the canvas. Very nice. Do some more in differentcolors.Suzanne Kuennen

Thank you once again ! Most people want children's artwork in silly cartoons. This is also a cute style. I paint more realisticly; which is not the norm these days. so I appreciate the comment. One more Gallery to post: RETOUCHING AND RESTORATIONS. Then I'm done.
2.11.2009

2.2.2009
Very nice Deb. I think I would have named it January Dreams , Remberances or something like that, as it reminds me of a rich vista in past dreams? This gives me a warm yet a slight melancoly mood?? Would like to know your emotions while drawing this. Curious.Question, how do you attatch music to your galleries......I have never done it but think maybe I would like to.
2.2.2009
Hi Deb, It is just beautiful ! What a imagination!
2.2.2009
Thanks Deb. Looked on your page and your work is very inspired. Keep it up! Elynne
2.1.2009
Hi Deborah, I like the sculpture. As a photographer I have a comment about when you photograph your art. You can get roll paper from any photo supply store and then using it to place your sculpture in a nuetral background. So that the background dosen't take away from the art. Only a suggestion. Keep up the creativity.
2.1.2009
Well Deborah it looks like you have been busy. Very Nice! They have a very other worldly landscape look.
2.1.2009

Hey! Thanks for checking out my work and taking the time to contact me! I found your work very interesting. What was the evolution of your work? Are Still Life and Dog older works or newer works? I find it interesting when artists who have great natural ability evolve their work to a new place -m.

12.16.2008
Nice Gallery. :)
12.16.2008
These horse works show some new qualities not seen by me before. Look at Debrorah Butterfield's horse and Marino Marini's horses...see or figure out what they are trying to say and it will help you define what you are trying to say...let the 'soul' speak more than the pencil. Hope this helps...it is much easier too.
12.16.2008
